Our goal is to outline itineraries in regions that we consider of prime interest to our readers and to recommend inns that we think are outstanding. All of the inns featured have been visited and selected solely on their merits. Our judgments are made on the charm of the inn, its setting, cleanliness, and, above all, the warmth of welcome. Each property has its own appeal, and we try to present you with a very honest appraisal. However, no matter how careful we are, sometimes we misjudge an inn's merits, or the ownership changes, or unfortunately sometimes inns just do not maintain their standards. If you find an inn is not as we have indicated, please let us know, and accept our sincere apologies. We greatly value and appreciate reader feedback.
Also, please use the prices provided as a comparative guideline only. Each property often has a much more complicated rate structure than we attempt to outline in our guides or on our website. For example, they might have single, double, suite, high season, low season, extended stay offers, rates that include meals, last minute specials….too many for us to detail or keep track of. We have simplified the range of rates to include price of a room for two people inclusive of low to high season. This does not take into account any last minute offers or seasonal specials. We contact the properties each year for their next year’s rates, and yet, in many cases they offer us their best-guess-estimate when their rates for the upcoming year have not been finalized before our publishing deadlines. The rates represented in our books and on our website are based on rates as provided to us by the properties. Properties do have the ability to update their rates all year for the website and we encourage them to do so. We also encourage you, the traveler, when you make reservations to enquire about rates and any specials that might be available.
