Villa Gnocchi
A Karen Brown Recommended B & B
Hosts: Simona & Roberto Gnocchi |

Karen's Review Of This Property:
Right in the heart of the chic (and expensive) Italian Riviera is a small jewel of a B&B hugging the hillside high above the ports of Portofino and Santa Margherita. The young host, Roberto, has restored almost single-handedly the two small stone farmhouses on a piece of his grandfather’s property. Twelve tastefully decorated double rooms are divided between the two houses, each with air conditioning, private bath, some antiques, and lovely panoramic views over the olive trees and fruit orchards and down to the sea. A cozy living room, inviting one to curl up with a book or to converse, gives visitors the feeling of being at the home of friends. In the small, beamed dining room or out in the panoramic terraced garden, breakfast and dinner (featuring local specialties such as the famous fresh pesto sauce) are served and prepared by Roberto while his darling wife, Simona, serves and attends to guests. From Genoa to the marvels of Cinque Terre, the Ligurian coast holds some very special treasures, and the Gnocchi makes a perfect place from which to discover them. Arrival accepted without notice before 1:30 pm or after 5 pm.
