- A Traveler Recommendation:
This place is a little gem, and is a old family home which has been lovingly, and authentically restored, benefitting from the owners’ considerable taste and local knowledge. It is a truly family B&B and the strong feeling is of staying in someone’s home, and of tranquility. The attention to detail is exceptional. The owners are both knowledgeable about the area, where they were raised. The sea is close by (although it would be good to rent transport of some sort) and spectacular scenery, both urban and landscape, is all around. Donna Fugata, the castle made famous by Giuseppe di Lampedusa’s ’The Leopard’ is visible from Tenuta Cammarana. The Southwest of Sicily is amongst the most unspoilt and pleasant corners of the Mediterranean, and this makes an ideal base to explore. I would advise you to go and stay soon, before Cammarana is discovered.
