We began as book publishers and currently have seventeen titles in the Karen Brown Series. This year, 2007, celebrates thirty years in publishing for Karen Brown’s Guides.
We pride ourselves on bringing you recommendations for both places to stay and suggestions for regional countryside itineraries. Our responsibility is to you, the traveler. We see everything we recommend and offer you selective and honest evaluations.
Now with the launch of our new website, we are pleased to be able to enhance what we have offered you through our published guides and previously on our website. Our new website enables you to build and plan your own trip; share recommendations, feedback with other travelers in the Karen Brown Community and give your favorite properties special recognition by voting for them in our Karen Brown Award’s program.
Our goal with our new website is also to extend the “Karen Brown World” to embrace areas we have not yet covered in our published guides. We want to share with you other destinations we have traveled to, but where we have not yet completed enough research to warrant a published guide. Also, through our alliance with some reputable hotel membership groups we are now able to offer you a greater number of recommendations in terms of places to stay around the world. These membership groups (which are detailed in our Partner section) have their own distinct profile and standards for selection. We are familiar with their criteria and membership standards, and while we have not had an opportunity to visit all of their properties, we feel comfortable in recommending their members. We felt this serves as an additional benefit to you, the Karen Brown Traveler, providing you access and information to properties of guaranteed quality in parts of the world we have yet to research.
