Weddings at Longueville House

Longueville House is a warm and inviting 18th-Century Listed Georgian Manse secluded amid a picturesque 500-acre wooded estate, farm and gardens in The Blackwater River Valley, 30 minutes north of Cork City.  There are in total 20 Guest Bedrooms (18 Double & two Box Rooms) for your family and friends to stay in, accommodating in total 38/40 house guests. By taking the entire house on a sole/exclusive basis (all 20 Guest bedrooms) ensures privacy and space and allows plenty of attention to detail. Your wedding can be just like a private house party and we can make it as formal or informal as you wish.  

Weekend Weddings: When booking a weekend wedding (Friday or Saturday) in 2010, we require that a minimum of 15 Guest bedrooms for double occupancy to be booked. The full services of restaurant & bar must be used on this night. A special Accommodation & Breakfast rate of €180.00 per room per night (flat rate) for double or single occupancy. Single rooms (only 2 available) €75.00 each B&B year round. Third person sharing in Junior Suite €50.00. 

Midweek Weddings: When booking a midweek wedding (Sunday to Thursday incl) 2010, a minimum of 12 Guest bedrooms for double occupancy to be booked. The full services of restaurant & bar must be used on this night.A special Accommodation & Breakfast rate of €160.00 per room per night (flat rate) for double or single occupancy. Single rooms (only 2 available) €75.00 each B&B year round. Third person sharing in Junior Suite €50.00. 

Accommodation Terms: Check in time is 3.00pm & Check out time is 12.00noon. The hotel will endeavour to accommodate guests arriving early whenever possible.Please note that above rates are subject to change.If you require bedrooms the nights before or after the wedding date, please contact our reservations department directly as the above rates only apply to the night of the wedding reception. Thank you.  

Dining Ethos: We have a restaurant with a highly regarded reputation both at home and internationally. Chef/Proprietor William O’Callaghan personally oversees the kitchen and is blessed with the fact that Longueville is almost completely self-sufficient.  Seasonal vegetables, fruit and herbs from our walled garden, free range eggs from our hens and ducks, fresh river salmon, lamb and pork from our farm - even a few bottles of apple brandy and wine come from the estate! One of the greatest rewards of staying at Longueville House is not the beautifully appointed period house, nor is it the wonderful cuisine in our Presidents’ Restaurant and Victorian Conservatory. It is the care and attention our personnel provides to guests under the watchful eye of The O’Callaghan Family, your hosts. See menu details below. 

Seating Arrangements: The Maximum number of guests catered to for a wedding meal /Reception is 140 people spread over four dining areas. Part of the charm & individuality of Longueville House is the homely, country house atmosphere offering a variety of dining ambiances that we have specially created for you. Dining arrangements are in The Turner Conservatory (seats up to 74 guests), The Presidents’ Restaurant (seats up to 38 guests), & The Library (seats up to 16 guests) & are all interconnected. Should your Guest numbers exceed 128 guests, we can offer The Chinese Room as an additional dining area, set slightly separately from the other three dining areas. This lovely room seats 16 guests.  

Non-Alcoholic Beverages: There will be certain guests who will not avail of the champagne & wine offered on the day. We can supply the following non alcoholic beverages below, but please order in advance: Jug of Longueville Farm Pressed Apple or Garden Fruit Juice €50 (Serves 14)1.5L Sparkling Mineral Water €4.50 per bottle Tea/Coffee €2.50 per person  

The Ceremony:

Civil Weddings:

Longueville House has been approved to host civil marriage ceremonies on site. This means that we can host your wedding and reception in the same exquisite venue, with no complicated upheavals for your wedding party. Civil wedding ceremonies are approved to take place in two areas on site, in both The Presidents’ Room and The Library. For Civil Ceremonies, we can accommodate up to 60 Guests. The Presidents’ Room will hold 60 Guests and for smaller numbers, The Library will hold 18 Guests. There is a charge of €160 for this room hire. Both of these rooms feed into the Turner Conservatory on ground floor. For further information about civil marriage ceremonies, please refer to the registration offices website www.groireland.ie

The Reception:

Food Tariff & Package Selection 2010                           

All Inclusive Package: Some bridal couples will follow the advise & selection as chosen by William, Chef/ Proprietor and opt for one of our three “All Inclusive” wedding packages.  

Silver Package: €100 per person.

Gold Package: €125.00 per person.  

Platinum Package: €150.00 per person.  

These above packages include food and beverages up to and during the wedding banquet.  Please consult Longueville House for details of what is included in each package.

The evening prior to your wedding reception, we can organize a pre-rehearsal dinner for your families in one of the private setting of our Chinese Room (Seats 18), Library (seats 14) or Presidents’ Room (Seats 40).

Babysitting & Childrens' Food:

Longueville House can accommodate up to 6 children during weddings. Please consult Longueville House for restrictions, requirements and options concerning children.

Our Extensive Grounds enhances your Wedding Album:

During fine weather our delightful parklands, walled gardens and vineyard provide wonderful arrays of flowers and shrubbery providing the perfect backdrop for your photo album.  Longueville truly is a photographer’s delight! Simple flower arrangements enhance the house and tables however the bride may decide and, is most welcome to use her own florist. Longueville House can supply for a fee stationery requirements: Place Name Cards (Printed)  Printed Menus (Menu choice required 1 month before event) Seating Plan (Required 48 hours before event)Table Numbers/Names (Required 48 hours before event).

LONGUEVILLE HOUSE HOTEL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR WEDDING RECEPTIONS 2010

Booking Confirmation & Deposits

Bookings are considered provisional until written confirmation together with a non-refundable booking deposit of €2,500.00 per night booked is received (for a weekend wedding, a deposit of €5,000 is required). Thereafter, a contract will be issued showing the estimated cost, based on minimum numbers.  Should we not receive a deposit within seven days, we will be obliged to release the provisional booking.  We will reply confirming details of your booking enclosing your receipt of for the deposit paid. 

Payment

50% pre-payment will be due six months before the wedding, 75% of estimated total bill will be due 2 months before the wedding date. Payment in full by bank draft or guaranteed cheque is required on departure from the hotel by a nominated person. 

Prices

Prices are valid for the year booked & include VAT at the current rate.  Service charge applies to food and beverage items only.  All prices are subject to annual review. All rates quoted have been given due consideration taking the current global financial situation in hand and are strictly non-negotiable. Prices for Rooms, Food, and Beverages etc will not be altered any further or discounted upon request. 

 

Minimum & Maximum Numbers

The Maximum number of guests catered to for a wedding meal /Reception is 136 people.The Maximum capacity for the room in which to hold a Civil Ceremony is 60 people. There is a charge of €160 for the use of this room.Final reception numbers must be received no later than 48 hours prior to date booked. This will be the minimum number charged.   Any increase in numbers will be accommodated subject to availability and charged accordingly.Upon booking your church, please note that we ask your guests to be seated by 6.30pm latest. 

 

Food & Beverages:

Menu choices must be made at least 1 month prior to your wedding date. Beverages of any kind are will not be permitted to be brought on the premises by participants, guests or invitees (unless a corkage service has been previously arranged with the hotel).   Only food prepared on the premises and supplied by the hotel may be consumed on the premises with the exception of a wedding cake once the wedding cake does not have fresh cream in it. Bar extensions can be arranged on request at an additional charge if you wish to serve alcohol after normal closing hours, the cost of which will be borne by bridal couple. Longueville House closes its Function bar & Residents bar at 2.00am sharp. 

Service Charge:

There is a 10% service charge on all food & beverage items added to final bill.                   

Table Plans:

Final numbers & table plans must be given 3 days before the event. This is the number you will be charged for on the day except if the numbers increase, in which case the additional number will be charged for. 

Entertainment:

The management of the hotel must approve all entertainment. The hotel will not provide equipment nor be responsible for any equipment brought to the hotel for entertainment purposes. Equipment hired in must be removed from hotel within 48 hours. All entertainment must end by 2.00am.

Cancellation/Postponement:

If you have to cancel the function, cancellation must be received in writing. We reserve the right to retain the deposit.  Cancellation charges to cover all items booked will be charged if the cancellation is received within 4 months of the date booked. If cancellation is received before this 4-month cut-off, an administration charge of €500 will also be deducted form any instalment’s paid.

In the event of postponement the original deposit paid may be transferred to a date booked within 6 months of the original date.  A second postponement will result in the deposit being forfeited in full.The hotel may cancel the event if it is closed due to fire, dispute with employees, alteration, decoration, sale or by order of any public authority or alternatively any strikes, accidents or restrictions on transportation of food beverages or supplies which would prevent performance of the agreement, evidence of any adverse alteration in the clients financial situation, or the hotel has the reason to believe the booking might prejudice the reputation of the hotel. Should this be the case, the hotel will refund all deposits paid. 

The Right to Refuse:

Longueville House reserves the right to refund a deposit in circumstances when a booking is made through a third party or under false pretenses. Prospective clients need to meet with a member of management by appointment prior to acceptance of the initial deposit. 

Miscellaneous:

The hotel is not liable for any loss of damage to property owned by or in the custody of the clients or its guests. Gifts, cards, cakes etc. should be taken from the hotel at time of check out.The client will be responsible for the conduct and discipline of all persons attending the event.   Should bedrooms, function rooms, public areas or the grounds of the hotel be damaged during the event the client will be responsible for payment on check out to make good or repair such damage.
