Imagine a sunny place replete with lavender, roses, hydrangeas, and olive and fruit trees gently waving in the breeze; Paths to follow, secluded seating areas to find respite after a hectic day of touring, a swimming pool to cool off . Such a wonderland exists at Le Lavandin, where innkeeper, Georgia Perrin Ball, has created a seductive oasis to be enjoyed without constraints. Where one can nestle down in the comfort of well-appointed rooms, in the lovely sunny salon or on the patio overlooking Provence. Breakfasts are generous and fabulous, always with a variety of French pastries and fruit in addition to other items made fresh every morning, complete with good French- pressed coffee and a tea selection. Fresh flowers from the garden grace the table and add that extra touch of luxury. It is the beguiling start of another day in Provence! Ms. Ball ensures that each guest has an individualized travel plan for the day, with infallible directions and a big map! An outdoor kitchen affords the guest the option of dining on the private patio; or, dinner reservations can also be arranged by Ms. Ball with recommendations that are totally reliable and which provide unique access to local favorites. An additional option is a private, on-site dinner prepared by a chef, served at a table in the garden, creating a magical evening for the guest. Where there is a need or a dream, Ms. Ball accommodates, in style and substance. For instance, her access to other services such as a personalized guided tour of the wine country, or an on-site masseuse, are readily available and of high quality. For those who love to bike, Ms Ball can arrange for cycling equipment. The possibilities seem endless! All in all, it is hard to beat a visit to Le Lavandin, with all of the conveniences of a select hotel, but the private luxury of a country inn presided over by a talented and passionate hostess.

Owner, Georriga Perrin is the consummate hostess and her joie de vivre is contagious! Le Lavandin is the perfect combination of impeccable detail, unique luxury and cozy warmth. The rooms are works of art, exquisitely appointed from the lovely linens to the spectacular views. The amazing and delicious breakfast at Le Lavandin feels like a legendary fête. We enjoyed exploring the incredibly beautiful landscape and surrounding areas - to be sure, magic and mystery can be found in the ancient villages of the Luberon and the Vaucluse. Georgia is delightfully helpful and knowledgeable about where to go and what to see, providing fantastic suggestions and maps! Being at Le Lavandin for The French Chef's Week was an experience of a lifetime that exceeded all my expectations and not to be missed by anyone in love with cooking and French cuisine! We will most assuredly return to Le Levandin, a wonderful place I now call heaven on earth.

We spent a week at Le Lavandin in early May and found it to be as lovely as we had hoped from your description in Karen Brown’s France B&B: beautiful grounds bursting with flower gardens, olive trees, lavender, and the biggest, most incredible roses we’ve ever seen. Our second-floor room with patio/veranda had great views of the countryside. The guest house was immaculate, tastefully decorated and filled with books and flowers. There are many places to relax throughout the property among the gardens on patios, verandas, by the pool. Le Lavandin’s owner Georgia knows Provence well and helped us plan our sightseeing excursions and map out our itineraries. Her suggestions as to which markets to visit, places to see, restaurants to eat at were so valuable and appreciated. The location is convenient to all of Provence and provides a good base for touring/day tripping, or, if you want, just relaxing.

Le Lavandin offers the quintessential experience of the spirit and hospitality of the region of Provence. Georgia Ball, the owner and host, has created an oasis of beauty throughout the rooms and the grounds of this soothing retreat. Rooms are tastefully decorated and we enjoyed picnics and wine on the adjacent terraces. Georgia’s considerable knowledge of the region paves the way for daytime trips to the perched villages and evening meals at some of the best restaurants in the Provence. Particularly for those of us new to the region, a visit to Le Lavindin provides the kind of introduction that prompts visitors to come again and again.
