Sturbridge & the Connecticut Shore

Recommended Itinerary Length: 5 to 7 days

Highlights: Boston, Lexington, Concord, references to American Revolution and Paul Revere’s Ride, Old Sturbridge Village, Mystic Village Seaport, Connecticut River Valley, Lyme and Old Lyme, Florence Griswold Museum, East Haddam, Goodspeed Opera House

Summary: This itinerary takes the traveler from Boston to Lexington and Concord, sites of historical events which led to the founding of the Colonies, and from there westward to Sturbridge Village and south to the Connecticut shoreline, with a visit to Mystic Seaport. This is an especially good route for those with children since the historical sites have guides who theatrically depict the events that took place in days now long gone.
