Summary: Philadelphia, sometimes called the "Cradle of Liberty"and often referred to as the "City of Brotherly Love," is where the United States of America was born on July 4, 1776 with the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. This is also where the Constitution of the United States was drafted in 1787. The city was founded in 1682 by William Penn who, with a group of Quakers, left religious persecution in England to establish a community in the New World based on freedom of conscience. Philadelphia has always carried with it a sense of its own history and its citizens bring to this current time values whose roots go deep into the past.
The purchase of this itinerary also includes the itineraries for The Brandywine Valley, Lancaster & Gettysburg, New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania.
