Morrocco Tourist Information

Overview

Overview:

Rich in history and culture, Morocco makes for an interesting destination.  Visits to the medinas (old Arabic quarter- usually walled with narrow streets) and souks (markets) of fabled cities such as Tangiers, Casablanca, Marrakesh and Fez can be immensely rewarding and informative. Millions of tourists flock yearly to this north African country that borders to the north on the Mediterranean Sea.

While relatively safe, one must remain vigilant and remember that Morocco has seen a number of terrorists bombings in the past and  visitors would be advised to stay clear of the Western Sahara region as this area has seen recent conflict and the area is rife with land mines.  When unsure, to be safe, one should check with the United States' State Department website for advisories in the region.
