Serves: 6 or 8
Preparation Time: less than five minutes
Recipe Credit: Donna Orchard
Ingredients :
100g butter (salted gives a better flavour)
100g dark chocolate ( the higher the cocoa the better - minimum 70% is recommended)
50 g self raising flour
100g sugar
3 eggs
+ you can add any amount of flavour such as:
1 chopped pear + dash of almond liqueur
chopped cherries and cherry liqueur
orange zest and orange liqueur
chopped banana and a tbsp of toffee sauce
Experiment, this is a great basic recipe!

Description :
All the guests seem to love this dessert.. it is like the LBD (little black dress) you can dress it up or dress it down. It is so quick and easy to make, cooks in less than 20 minutes so prep ahead (if you remember, if not no biggie, percolate the coffee and by the time that's done the cake will be pretty much done.) Is best served still warm.
Instructions :
OK, so first off you need to melt the butter and chocolate together, the easiest way is in the microwave. 30 second to 1 minute depending on the strength,
Next beat in the 3 eggs, then flour and sugar and your choice of other ingredients.
Pour into a cake tin and bake at 180 c for around 20 minutes, less if you like it gooey in the middle.
As well as being a great stand alone dessert this can be served as a small slice on a dessert sampler. My favourite is the banana flavoured one, served with half a poached pear, toffee sauce and a small scoop of creme brulee ice cream, serve a glass of iced Amaretto on the side - DESSERT HEAVEN
