Festive Cranberry Bread

Ingredients :
2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 ½ tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
½ tsp baking soda
¼ cup butter
1 egg beaten
1 tsp grated orange peel
¾ cup orange juice
1 ½ cups raisins
1 ½ cups cranberries, frozen or fresh, chopped

Description :
A delicious easy to make and bake alternative to heavy fruitcake. Excellent for Christmas morning. Moist and can be made ahead.
Instructions :
Sift flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda into a large bowl. Cut in butter until the mixture is crumbly. Add egg, orange peel and orange juice all at once; stir just until mixture is evenly moist. Fold in raisins and cranberries. Spoon into a greased 9x5x3inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on a wire rack.
