Ingredients :
Orange Butter
French Toast Mixture
Description :
Simple to prepare and surprisingly delicious, this is a recipe often requested by guests for breakfast when Karen had her own inn!
Instructions :
In a mixing bowl, beat Eggs, Milk, Grand Marnier and Orange juice until thoroughly blended. Heat skillet over medium heat. Oil pan (or spray with Pam). Soak individual pieces of bread in mixture. Place on griddle. Cook each side until golden brown.
Serve each piece topped with orange butter and dusting of powdered sugar. Garnish plate with twist of orange.
Note: also delicious when topped with any fresh berry: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries - yummmm!
To make Orange butter:
Melt butter and then stir in orange liqueur, orange juice, orange zest and julienned pieces. When throughly mixed, slowly add powdered sugar to the mixture, stirring until smooth. Orange butter should then be refrigerated until firm and ready to use.
Note: We sometimes added crushed rasberries into butter mixture when still warm - resulting in a delicious rasberry butter great on french toast, muffins....anything!
