Amar

Amar is a new restaurant which opened just a week ago. We liked its modern look, beautiful linens, lighting and décor. The owner, Rafael, greeted us at the door. They brought us a glass of champagne as soon as we set down, with a plate of pate followed by bruscetta. We relied on the owner’s recommendation and ordered a squid stuffed with shrimp for an appetizer, fish soup and paella (house specialty). All of that was only one portion which we both shared (we were glad we shared, because it was enough for two). The quality of food and wine was beyond good. It was probably our best meal during the entire trip. For desert we had crema catalano and coffee. Mmmmm. To top it all, the owner brought vin santo with cantuccini AND a shot of Crème Catalan (tasted like Bailys). We felt sorry we were leaving next morning, or we would be back. Who knows, may be next year…
