User Review Of This Restaurant:
The restaurant, Cafe Gibraltar, is located in the hamlet of El Granada on the San Mateo, California coast, is a special gem and worth a side trip if you are anywhere close by. The raves and ratings received by this restaurant all have been earned and well deserved. Owner/chef Jose Luis Ugalde works his magic in a small open kitchen where his skills are on display. The menu is best described as Mediterranean including French, Moroccan, Spanish influences and much, much more. The Octopus and Calamari Salad, almost a meal in itself, is not to be missed. I have heard of chefs that have traveled miles to sample from Jose's kitchen.
