Norway
Northern Norway
Overview:
Rugged coasts, fjords, glaceiers and forests are all part of the geography of Northern Norway. The three counties of Nordland, Troms and Finnmark comprise the region which is home to approximately one-tenth of the Norwegian population while covering a little over a third of the geography.
Northern Norway is the true land of the midnight sun. All of Norway, in comparison to more southern countries, experiences longer periods of sunlight in the summer and, converesly, shorter, periods of daylight or twilight in the winter but in the region of Northern Norway these long and short days are a little more extreme. Be prepared to have your internal clock complain about the long periods of sunlight or the lack thereof.
