Ireland
Connaught
Overview:
Located on the west coast of Ireland, the Connaught province encompasses the counties of Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo. The least densely populated of the four Irish Provinces, Connaught is home to some of the most scenic and natural countryside of Ireland.
The Connaught is home to the wild, hauntingly beautiful scenery of the Connemara. The Connemara National Park covers some 5,000 acres of mountain, heath and bog. For those desiring manicured gardens and verdant woodlands, the Connaught generally and the Connemara in particular, will be a disappointment.
