Portugal

Lisboa

Overview:

This section boasts the location of Lisbon, Portugal’s magnificent capital that sprawls along the north bank of the River Tagus before it flows out to the ocean. With claim to both a river and a coastline, this is an enchanting city that is surprisingly intimate in size and easy to explore. As for the rest of this geographically region, there is lots of diversity. Charming villages and resorts appear along the coastline; a wealth of medieval monuments in an area referred to as Estremadura stand as testiment to early battles with the Moors, and inland, at the heart of the Alentejo heavily fortified villages and castles are embraced by a patchwork of seemingly endless golden wheatfields and hillsides spotted with oak and olive trees.
