Karen's Review Of This Property:
Sitting quietly on its corner lot on First Street for close to a hundred years and previously used as a family home and commercial offices, this fine old shingle-sided structure was carefully made over in readiness for its new life as the Blackbird Inn. Resplendently renovated with a new interior in the Greene and Greene style of Arts and Crafts architecture, it provides a haven of welcome and comfort just a few minutes’ walk away from the delights of downtown Napa. The sitting room with its exquisite leaded stained-glass front door, large fieldstone fireplace, comfy sofas, stained-glass accents, soft-hued lighting, and gleaming mahogany woodwork sets the tone. The eight guestrooms, five up the imposing staircase, three on the main floor, are varied in size but similar in standard and amenities. Most have gas fireplaces, two have private, albeit small, decks, and half have jetted spa tubs. All are decorated in a pleasing Craftsman style—many pieces of furniture were handcrafted by the owner. Copia, the food, wine, and garden exposition, is about a mile away on First Street. Spend your days exploring the Napa Valley and return to the inn to relax with a glass of wine and hors d’oeuvres. A Four Sisters Inn.
