Karen's Review Of This Property:
Madrona Manor, just a few minutes from the heart of Healdsburg, is secluded in 8 acres of glorious grounds. This fantasy vistorian mansion (on the National Register of Historic Places) was built in 1881 by John Alexander Paxton, a tycoon of great wealth. The mansion houses the reception area, several lounges, and a spacious dining room opening onto a large covered terrace. Antiques abound, emphasizing the Victorian mood of the home. A flight of stairs leads up to our four favorite second-story rooms, which are decorated with handsome Victorian furniture original to the house. Other guestrooms are found in the Carriage House, the Meadow Wood Complex, and the Garden Cottage (with its own private garden and sheltered deck). The Schoolhouse Suites are located in the original schoolhouse for the ranch—two suites each with sitting room, Jacuzzi, private deck, and garden. Lush lawns, perfectly manicured gardens, towering trees, and secluded nooks provide a haven of beauty and tranquility. A swimming pool offers a refreshing interlude after a day of visiting the nearby Sonoma vineyards.
