Christopher’s Inn is located in an easy-to-find, walk-to-everything spot in the quaint town of Calistoga with its boutiques and delightful restaurants. Owner Christopher Layton has employed his considerable architectural talents in developing this charming and secluded haven right next to Hwy 29. Guestrooms come in a wide range of types and sizes and are priced accordingly, so be sure to specify exactly what you want. The oh-so-cozy queen- and king-bedded rooms have private entrances and are nicely decorated—room 10 is a particularly nice example. At the other end of the spectrum are the splendid French suites, sumptuously attired in the manner of a luxurious château, with decadent bathrooms where you can soak in two-person Jacuzzi tubs before flickering firelight. The quietest, more basic, accommodation is found in a pair of two-bedroom cottages, each with a trundle bed in the sitting room—these face a peaceful suburban street and are perfect for family reunions or small groups of friends. In the morning a basket is delivered to your room with a bounty of delicious breakfast treats. The Laytons are personable, helpful innkeepers.
