Karen's Review Of This Property:

A warm welcome, a cozy bedroom with a four-poster French country bed and a wood-burning fireplace, a superbly prepared meal in the best French style, and a glass of sauvignon blanc made this country inn overlooking fields and ponds—a haven of pleasure. The rooms have comfortable reading chairs, good lighting to read by, fluffy terry robes, and bathrooms with all the amenities a traveler could possibly want. The restaurant is decorated with antique French copper cooking ware, which sets off and complements the warm-salmon faux-painted walls. Dinner began with a special appetizer of fresh crab croquette with citrus salad, vanilla and chili oils with cilantro; followed by wild mushroom stuffed kurobuta pork with caramelized onion and smoke bacon tart; and dessert was impossible to resist: a fudge brownie and banana split with a trio of ice creams. There is an extensive French and American wine list worthy not only of study but selective tasting. Within the inn there is also an attractive sitting room. Alain and Celeste also have their new Villa La Campaignette with three suites and a swimming pool set in a lovely area of this Virginia hunting country, just 3 miles from L’Auberge Provencale. Breakfast is served in a charming dining room.
