Karen's Review Of This Property:
Newfane is a “must-visit” beautiful New England town and has been one of my favorites for 40 years or so. The historic green and all the houses that surround the county courthouse stand as they have since the 1840s and behind the courthouse you find the Four Columns Inn. The inn is a popular base for sightseeing in this area, and if you’d like to visit during foliage time (generally the first half of October), you’ll need to make reservations as much as a year ahead. There are 15 guestrooms with private baths, showers and free telephone service. Most rooms have fireplaces, spa tubs, cable and internet. The inn has an extensive DVD library for guest use. My personal favorite was room 12, with its king pencil-post cherry-wood bed and a fireplace open on one side to the bedroom and on the other to the bathroom. There’s an attractive sitting area with two comfortable chairs, a painted armoire, and views of woods. The inn’s restaurant produces impeccable, creative cuisine blending New American, Asian, and French traditions into taste sensations (once again, reservations are needed well in advance, even for houseguests). Presentations are so spectacular that it’s hard to decide whether dinner looks better or tastes better.
