Karen's Review Of This Property:
Frank Dudley constructed this Victorian mansion in 1881 and today it continues to provide the warmth, welcome, and service that were present in that earlier era. Lang House’s eleven bedrooms, each with private bath, are decorated in the style of the mansion as it once was. They are large and comfortable, with space for you to unpack and spread out, and space for you to read, either in bed or in a comfortable chair with a good reading light. My room, the Hayward, had a queen bed with fishnet canopy, good reading lights, an armoire for my clothes, and a comfortable chair in which to curl up for a nap. The innkeepers serve a delicious breakfast with a choice of entrée: the gingerbread waffles were new to me and were very tasty with Vermont (of course!) maple syrup. From the inn you can walk to town, to the shops, and to the several educational institutions that are found here in Burlington. Because the town is located on Lake Champlain there is a lot of activity along the edge of the shore. Ferries cross the lake to New York State, saving you lots of driving time and giving you a nice break in a day of driving. Just south is the Shelburne Museum, a “must” for all ages.
