Karen's Review Of This Property:

West Mountain Inn sits way up on a hill with glorious views down the long winding driveway to the valley below. There are 150 acres on which to roam, with wildflowers, a bird sanctuary, alpacas, hiking trails, and the Battenkill River where you might want to try your fishing skills. Accommodation in the main house is in twelve bedrooms and three suites. The Booker T. Washington room has original butternut paneling, your choice of either king or twin beds, and views of neighboring mountains and pastures. The Rockwell Kent suite has a native-butternut cathedral ceiling in the king-sized bedroom and a spacious living room with fireplace. There are three townhouses at the historic mill, which may be rented with or without meals. Each of these has a living room with satellite TV, kitchen, master bedroom, and a cozy guestroom. The restaurant serves hearty country breakfasts and elegant five-course dinners and à la carte dining are offered seven days a week. Whether it’s winter or summer or the peak time of foliage when all of New England comes ablaze, this inn is a great place to be.

Directions: Leave Route 7 north at exit 3, turning left at the end of the ramp. Take the access road to the end and turn right on Route 7A into Arlington. Drive 1 mile then turn left on Route 313 for ½ mile, go left on River Road, over the green bridge, and into the inn’s driveway on the left.
