With its superb oceanside location on 40 gorgeous acres at the west end of Newport’s world-renowned Ocean Drive, the Castle Hill Inn & Resort offers guests romance, seclusion, and beauty. This Victorian mansion has been elegantly restored, with guestrooms in the main building, the private Harbor Houses, and a Swiss-style chalet. The renovated Beach House rooms with their breathtaking views, king beds, fireplaces, and beautifully equipped bathrooms are situated on a private white-sand beach. In the main house bedrooms are decorated with Victorian furniture, while the other guestrooms are decorated in an elegant seaside style. All are comfortable and inviting. Castle Hill’s dining room has lovely views out to sea and the sunset; and any meal here, including a decadent afternoon tea at the top of the stairs in front of a fire, is an experience not to miss. The two-story Turret Suite, with 360-degree views, a sensational cupola, soaking tub, steam shower, fireplace, and every possible luxury, is extraordinary. Newport is such a small, intimate town and the mansions are so amazingly large that a visit here garners a near-perfect ten.

Directions: From New York City take I-95 to Route 138 east. Take the first exit off the Newport Bridge and turn right at the second light. Turn right on Americas Cup then at the fifth light turn right on Thames to Wellington and then right on Ocean Drive for 3 miles. The inn is on the right.
