Karen's Review Of This Property:
Spanish-style mansions in the Amish world of Lancaster County are definitely not the norm, which makes The King’s Cottage a nice change—particularly from the Victorian style of so many inns in this area. With a stucco exterior and tile roof, this structure distinguishes itself nicely. This inn was built as a private home in the early 1900s. It is now listed in the National Register of Historic Places and has won an award for preserving its historical heritage. The living room is large and especially comfortable, offering many places to relax and enjoy good conversations. The inn’s bedrooms, each with private bath, are decorated traditionally and have queen or king beds. The largest, the Majestic Chamber, features an ornately carved king bed, crystal chandelier, marble-faced fireplace and a two-person whirlpool tub. The Carriage House, behind the inn, features a king sleigh bed, a fireplace, and a two-person Jacuzzi spa tub. A full breakfast is served in the formal dining room each morning. There’s a lot to do in this area, with live entertainment and antiquing high on the list, though driving through the quiet countryside a few minutes from this inn would also be a favorite.
