Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Baladerry Inn is ideally situated for travelers who are interested in the history of the Civil War. The perfect way to see the battlegrounds and understand the battles would be to bike across the neighboring fields where more than a century ago the conflict that tore apart our nation took place. (A local shop will deliver bikes to the inn.) The inn has ten bedrooms, five in the main house and five (including the Carriage House Suite) in a separate building. The rooms are comfortably decorated with antique and reproduction furnishings, with basic bathrooms. My favorite room was at the top of the creaking, weathered stairs in the part of the house that dates to 1830: named for the charming wallpaper in delicate primrose, the room offers either a king or twin beds, overlooks the garden, and has a private bathroom located across the hall. In the common room in the original building there is a dining area near the wood fireplace. Located in a country setting, Baladerry sits up on a hill and lawns slope down to the street below. Its gardens add color in season to the rolling hills steeped in military history, and terraces and a tennis court invite the guest to enjoy the spacious grounds.
