Karen's Review Of This Property:
This majestic Queen Anne home, enthusiastically restored, draws many architecture aficionados. Originally built in 1906 as a private residence, it is considered one of a kind in the historic Irvington District, an area known for its show of uniquely different styles of home design. Inside and out, this particular showcase is elaborate, rich with many of the English and medieval touches that became so popular with William Morris and the Arts and Crafts movement. Downstairs the public spaces are immense, with oversized antique furniture and an abundance of Victoriana in deep, dark tones. Guests are invited to roam at will through these rooms. Even the kitchen is open to your comings and goings. Light refreshments are served every afternoon and Steve and Dusty, the innkeepers, are happy to share their knowledge about the house and the local area. Upstairs wide, carpeted hallways extend to the bedrooms. The Lavonna Room is one of the most popular because of its distinctive round cupola setting. In Starina, the circa-1860 high-back Edwardian bed with matching furniture is great fun to experience! All rooms are equipped with phones, data ports, WiFi and cable TV. Located near the MAX light rail transit. Only five minutes from the Convention Center and two blocks from good restaurants.
