Karen's Review Of This Property:
When Brewery Gulch Inn opened in 2001 it brought a new look to the area of mostly victorian style lodgings. Redwood logs, originally harvested in the 1800s and preserved, buried deep in the silt of the neighboring Big River before being “rescued”, are a key ingredient in its construction. Set in 3 acres high on a bluff overlooking Smuggler’s Cove, the architecturally distinctive, redwood-shake-covered inn contains ten guestrooms. The redwood is used throughout, blending with craftsman-style furnishings and colors selected to harmonize with the inn’s natural setting. Each room has an ocean view and fireplace, most have their own private deck, and all are luxuriously equipped with every modern convenience to make your stay complete. The inn’s resident chef prepares gourmet breakfasts, afternoon hors d’oeuvres, and special-event dinners with Brewery Gulch-grown organic products. Guests can sample local vintners’ produce at the wine bar, warmed by the heat thrown from logs burning in an enormous, custom-built fireplace made of stainless steel and glass, the focal point of the living/dining room.
