Karen's Review Of This Property:
Glendeven is a delightful New England-style farmhouse built in 1867 by Isaiah Stevens for his bride, Rebecca. Today, this beautiful clapboard home is absolutely decorator-perfect and continues to be one of our favorite places to stay. I’m certain you will echo our sentiments and whether you select a room in the main house or Stevenscroft, a stylish gabled annex in the garden, or choose the seclusion of the Carriage House suite behind the art gallery, you will be as thrilled with the place as we are. Most rooms have superb, not-so-distant ocean views and fireplaces; all have immaculate decor and beautiful bathrooms. Breakfast is served in your room on a tray, or snugly in a picnic basket if you are away from the main house. We were reluctant to leave the confines of our room but just had to take the path across the highway that leads to the clifftops, to the beach of Van Damme State Park, or out the back through Glendeven’s Forest Trail to the trails of Van Damme. Glendeven is a luxury farmstead with fresh eggs on-site, daily llama feedings, a green house and vegetable gardens. It is home to The Wine Bar[n] at Glendeven, a tasting room & wine bar on-site featuring local Anderson Valley wines.
