Karen's Review Of This Property:
Lambertville is a charming village nestled on the banks of the Delaware River, straddling the border of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. A destination in its own right with galleries, antique and boutique shops, and restaurants; the village is in a region of culture and history, a few miles distant from where Washington made his historic crossing and Princeton University. The Lambertville House is an elegant boutique hotel built by Captain John Lambert in 1812; it has hosted many prestigious dignitaries in its past. A wrought-iron terrace set with café tables off the town’s main street is the entry to the four-star, handsome stone and stucco building. Reception is at the end of a long, wide hallway where you pass an enticing gift shop to one side and an intimate side bar, Left Bank Libations, emitting soft, melodious jazz music, on the other. Guestrooms vary in size and whether they have sitting rooms, fireplaces or decks (most have gas fireplaces, all have whirlpool tubs). The romantics will love the Stage House Suite whose space is divided by a dramatic two-sided gas fireplace into a cozy bedroom and bathroom with two-person Jacuzzi, that opens onto its own private deck. There are two similarly appointed guestrooms in a separate carriage house. A European-style continental breakfast is served every morning in the main building.
