One couldn’t ask for a more idyllic setting. The soft yellow, shuttered, two-story house on the corner, opposite the waterfront walk of Plymouth, will catch your eye. I couldn’t help but think that from the vantage point of the wrap-around porch, this would be the place to plant oneself to watch the town’s patriotic fourth of July parade. Lucky for the traveler, Roger and Brenda have converted the charming home to offer overnight accommodation. There are three guestrooms with very different offerings. The coziest in size, but with spectacular water views, is the Mayflower Suite in the front of the home at the top of the entry stairs. The four-poster, queen-sized bed is positioned to enjoy unobstructed views through the front corner windows, with a sofa tucked in the narrow passage set opposite an expanse of window. Choose the Governor Bradford Suite and you will enjoy three rooms: a back bedroom with angled water views, a cozy living room with water views, and a kitchen that opens onto an expanse of back deck with a separate outside entrance off the deck’s stairway. Entered from off the front porch is another queen-bedded room that enjoys its own private sun porch. In summer months, breakfast is offered on the front porch. During cooler weather months, breakfast is enjoyed on the enclosed front porch overlooking the harbor.
