Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Charlotte Inn in Edgartown is a formal and beautifully decorated inn with lovely antiques and much original art. As with many of the inns on Martha’s Vineyard, this historic home was built in the last half of the 19th century and once belonged to a whaling merchant. Brick paths lead you to lovely gardens and cozy places to relax: there’s an especially beautiful rose garden with a lattice, which can be seen from several of the inn’s rooms. Next door in the carriage house you find two of the inn’s twenty-three bedrooms and one suite, all of which are luxurious and have every possible amenity. Each has that quality and feeling of a room you’ve been away from and to which you have just come home. Dining at the inn’s restaurant, Catch at the Terrace, is available in the glass-paned conservatory or outdoors on a terrace where you are surrounded by plants for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Chef Christopher Parsons explores the local bounty with fine, regional seafood. This is not an inn where you wander through with sandy feet from the beach, but rather an inn where you celebrate a special occasion in a meticulously orchestrated setting.
