One of the many pleasures of visiting Boston is that you can walk to almost everything you’d like to see. The best location is the Clarendon Square Inn, as its doors open onto all of Boston’s restaurants, galleries, and shopping. This historic property, with its traditional exterior, has been transformed into an elegant urban retreat. Guest suites are spacious with ornamental fireplaces and limestone bathrooms. High-count cotton sheets, down pillows, and Aveda bath amenities will pamper you. There is a sundeck on the roof, complete with a hot-tub overlooking Boston’s skyline. The inn’s parlor has 11-foot high ceilings with period detail and a grand piano. The garden suite’s modern furniture, subtle textures, and calming colors stimulate, but also relax. The window seat in the bay room, furnished in Empire style and decorated in deep sensuous colors, invites you to curl up with a book or perhaps a glass of wine. Directions: From Mass Pike Route 90, take exit 22 for Copley Square, keep right on the off-ramp to Copley. Take first right onto Dartmouth Street. At 2nd light take right onto Warren Avenue. West Brookline St is the 2nd left and the inn the 5th house.
