Karen's Review Of This Property:
Travel from Baltimore’s inner harbor along cobbled streets lined with charming brick row houses to the waterfront. Your destination is a towering brick building, Henderson’s Wharf, which is named for a pre-civil war merchant, John Henderson. Its previous use as a tobacco plant adds to its character and ambiance. Totally renovated, the building now shelters condominiums and a limited number of hotel rooms. Step inside and you will be impressed immediately by the elegance and refinement of its décor. Furnishings define the various areas of the large, handsome entry. Sofas and chairs set in front of a welcoming fireplace create an intimate sitting area that looks out through an expanse of large paned windows to a central courtyard garden. A desk serves as the reception for both hotel guests and residents, and just beyond, intimate tables and a large buffet stage the breakfast area. Exposed brick walls and wood paneling create a handsome setting. Exceptionally wide hallways, attractive with their wainscoting and wall sconces, lead to the accommodations. The attractively decorated guest rooms (half of which boast views of the bay or side inlet) are located on the first floor. All were completely remodeled and refurbished after Hurricane Katrina flooded the building. This is a lovely hotel with excellent professional service that is offered to both guests and residents.
