Karen's Review Of This Property:

Blair Hill Inn is a stunning three-story mansion set high on a hillside with breathtaking views of Moosehead Lake and the wilderness of northern Maine. Built in 1891 as a gentleman’s farm, it has been meticulously restored and opened as an inn by Dan and Ruth McLaughlin. Upon stepping through the main door, warmth and beauty abound: a magnificent circular entryway, then tall pocket doors open into the grand living room whose huge windows frame the million dollar view. A beautiful fireplace, one of seven, centered between two sets of French doors warms the elegant seating area and a baby grand piano is nearby. The front porch, which runs the entire length of the home, again offers lake and mountain views beyond compare. The graciously refined dining room overlooks the water as well. On weekends a five-course, fixed price dinner is offered in this extremely romantic setting. A magnificent circular staircase leads to eight simply gorgeous guest rooms. All rooms are spacious, light-filled and extremely inviting. A favorite, number 1, is exquisite. There is a four-poster mahogany king bed, five windows filled with lake views, a wood burning fireplace, two oversized chairs, and a wood-paneled dressing room that leads to the large ‘vintage’ bath.

This is a first class Inn in every respect. Blair Hill Inn is in a spectacular setting in lovely grounds looking over Moosehead Lake. The bedrooms are warm, comfortable and spacious and on a par with many 5 star hotels that we have stayed in both in the USA and UK and Europe. Ruth and Dan are both very special people who are perfect hosts along with Mattie,Belle and Olive who give you a special Maine doggy welcome when you first arrive. We arrived at the Blair Hill Inn last October not really knowing what to expect. We left feeling that we had stayed in one of the most special Inns in the whole of New England. We have already reserved another week at the Blair Hill in October this year and we will now probably spend a week in the Fall there every year for the rest of our lives. Frank and Mary-Rose Russell
