Karen's Review Of This Property:
Built in the 1880s, this lovely three-story home, with dormer windows and wraparound porch set on a lush lawn shaded by large trees is a delightful find. On one side of the entry is the cozy library looking out to the swimming pool; on the other side, through French doors, is the beautiful living room decorated with period antiques and sofas in front of the hand carved fireplace. The back of the fireplace opens up to the dining room where guests enjoy breakfast on delicate Limoge china (breakfast can also be served poolside or in your room). Peek into the butler’s pantry just beyond the dining room: its tin roof is original to the home and its shelves display a collection of antique china. The spacious king-bedded Garden Room is located on the third floor with its jacuzzi tub overlooking the swimming pool. A little porch sitting area, unusual shower room and snug queen-bedded room give Victoria lots of appeal. Select English Holiday for its quintessential English country décor. Wine and dessert are served in the evening while cookies, fruit, tea and coffee are available round the clock. Stay at Bissell House for the annual New Year’s Rose Bowl Parade, a prime location as guests walk to grandstand seating and enjoy the pre-parade festivities.
