Karen's Review Of This Property:
It’s a long way from Tangiers, yet nestled in the heart of the Southern California desert, at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains lies an unmistakable southern Mediterranean experience Korakia Pensione. Desert living of “Old Palm Springs” is lovingly re-created at two adjacent historic villas: the Moroccan-style villa of painter Gordon Coutts and the Mediterranean-style villa of early screen star J. Carrol Naish. Whitewashed walls, Oriental carpets, handmade furniture, lovely natural fabrics, antiques, Moroccan fountains, fragrant fruit trees, torches blazing by the pools, and bougainvillea-draped archways create a stunning ambiance. Bedrooms, found around each of the villas swimming pools, are mostly ground floor and offer lots of privacy. For a treat, request one of our favorite rooms, the Nash House or the Artist Studio. Private dinners are available Thursday through Sunday nights, served either in the room or poolside. Enjoy Moroccan tea in an afternoon, old movies outdoors (most of the year), a relaxing massage, and a full breakfast served on the sun-drenched patio.
