Karen's Review Of This Property:
We arrived on the ferry from Cape May and found the little historic town of Lewes and the Inn at Canal Square sitting just off the town’s short Main Street—the only waterfront inn in Lewes. The inn’s handsome, contemporary, appearance looks fresh and clean among all the historic structures. Inside there are 22 large guestrooms and two suites, many with a balcony overlooking the working harbor, where fishing boats (as well as pleasure craft) provide great entertainment. Rooms 401, 402 and 403 boast some of the best views. The two suites, located in the neighboring Waterview or Courtyard building with it's wonderful wrap-around deck, enjoy two bedrooms, two baths, living room, kitchenette and wonderful views. The Admiral’s Suite is the more spectacular of the two! Every corner of this inn has been carefully decorated. Just inside the entrance you find a small but exquisitely furnished guest area with a fireplace where you can relax and there is a nice dining area where an expanded Continental breakfast is served. Settle in this oldest town in Delaware just before or after taking the Cape May–Lewes ferry. A great walking town you will enjoy its antique shops and the boutiques, and it’s no distance at all to the ocean and bay beaches. A conference center is available for meetings or receptions.
