Karen's Review Of This Property:
Ridgefield is a glorious country town in the mid-western corner of Connecticut and the West Lane Inn is perfectly situated for explorations of the area. The inn is set graciously in an elegant 19th-century estate, surrounded by an expanse of lawn and garden. There’s a grand porch spanning the front of the building—a great place to sit and read with a cup of tea. The air-conditioned guestrooms have queen four-poster or king-sized beds (some have 2 queen-sized beds), private baths, some fireplaces and every amenity a guest might want. There is also a cottage housed in a separate building that has a suite and one room with a kitchenette—perfect for extended stays. Flowered wallpapers are used extensively, adding to the rooms’ charm and comfort. Built in 1849 the West Lane Inn combines the charm of an intimate country inn with every convenience of a large hotel: satellite TVs, VCRs, wireless internet access, 24-hour telephone service, voice mail, hair dryers, refrigerators, laundry service, and then some. A complimentary continental and an à la carte menu is served in the breakfast room or on the terrace, weather permitting. Restaurants abound, including their neighbor, one of Connecticut’s finest, Bernard’s serving French cuisine.
