Karen's Review Of This Property:
On the eastern approach to Mystic, just before the famous bascule bridge over the scenic Mystic River, sits a lovely, historic hotel that affords reasonably priced accommodation, a warm welcome, and comfortable rooms in five separate buildings. The location is ideal for walking to just about everything. The reception is housed in the oldest building where guestrooms are found on three levels overlooking Main Street or back courtyard parking. The attention to decor and comfort is impressive in these nicely sized rooms, which enjoy reproduction period beds, writing desks, inviting armchairs, and armoires concealing TVs. Our bathroom was simple but prettily wallpapered. Rooms are also found in the historic 1865 House next door, also fronting the main street. Behind it in two wings of rooms built about 20 years ago, the Stonington and Noank Houses, which, in addition to standard double rooms, also have guestrooms that can accommodate two double beds—perfect for families. A replica of an existing building, The Hoxie House houses rooms with water views, fireplaces and oversize bathrooms with whirlpool tubs. A Continental breakfast is set out in the hospitality room or guests are welcome to take it back to their rooms. A restaurant is conveniently located in the main building.
