Karen's Review Of This Property:

The Green Gables Inn is sensationally positioned overlooking Monterey Bay. This romantic, half-timbered, Queen Anne-style mansion with many interesting dormers is as inviting inside as out. The living room and dining room have comfortable arrangements of sofas and chairs placed to maximize your enjoyment of the view. Many of the upstairs bedrooms, set under steeply slanting beamed ceilings with romantic diamond-paned casement windows, offer ocean views. While the Garret room does not have an ocean view, it is the coziest of hideaways. All but two of the upstairs bedrooms share bathrooms. The elegant ground-floor suite has a sitting room and fireplace, while the rooms in the adjacent carriage house are all especially spacious, have fireplaces, sitting areas, and private bathrooms—some with Jacuzzi tubs. As a guest at the Green Gables Inn you will certainly not perish from hunger or thirst—beverages are available all day, goodies are readily at hand in the cookie jar, and wine and hors d’oeuvres appear in the evening. Breakfast, too, is no disappointment: it’s a hearty buffet of fruit, homemade breads, and a hot egg dish. A Four Sisters Inn.

Directions: From Hwy 1 take the Pacific Grove-Del Monte exit. As you go through the tunnel, Del Monte becomes Lighthouse Avenue, which you follow into Pacific Grove. Go right one block and you are on Ocean View Boulevard—the inn is on the corner at Fifth Street.
