Karen's Review Of This Property:

Carmel’s quaint gingerbread architecture, profusion of colorful flowers, and tall, shady trees are all happily combined at the Vagabond’s House. Set around a flagstone courtyard shaded by a giant oak tree and surrounded by ferns, azaleas, camellias, and rhododendrons, the inn is made up of a group of attached storybook English cottages, brick and half-timbered, topped by a thick shake roof, making this one of Carmel’s most appealing-looking inns. Most of the guestrooms open directly onto the courtyard with its fountain and abundance of flowers including colorful fuchsias cascading from hanging boxes set in the oak tree. All of the bedrooms have inviting coordinating fabrics. Every bedroom has at least two antique clocks, all have sherry, several have a small kitchen and many have their own cozy sitting nook and fireplace. In the morning you phone reception to let them know when you would like a breakfast tray brought to your room. Dennis LeVett, the owner, has a collection of British toy soldiers which he displays in the lounge. It is a quiet location and a short walk to the shops and restaurants of Carmel. Pets are welcome.
