Karen's Review Of This Property:
A short walk off Ocean Avenue and central Carmel with its shops, galleries, and restaurants (48 at last count—leave that diet behind!), the Cobblestone Inn is a wonderful example of California cute. Wrapped around a central courtyard replete with trees, flowers, and creepers, where a sheltered brick patio is set with tables and chairs, the inn has been attractively decorated and furnished in an appealing California country style. Rooms come in a range of sizes but all have similar amenities including refrigerator, phone, television, and fireplace. Ample, functional bathrooms are finished in a mix of tile and painted wood paneling and have a generous supply of fluffy white towels. We appreciated the value of the “cozy queens” and enjoyed the ambiance of “standard queens” but really fell for the spaciousness of the “single-room king” suites with Jacuzzi tubs (rooms 6 and 18) and especially liked room 27 with its four-poster bed and spa tub. Families traveling with children should request the two-room suites (11 and 23), each equipped with a king-sized bed and a separate sitting room. In the evening hors d’oeuvres and wine are served in the lounge with its comfy sofas and fieldstone fireplace. A full buffet breakfast is provided, to be enjoyed indoors or out on the patio.
