Bodysgallen Hall and Spa Sketch

Karen's Review Of This Property:

Snowdonia is home to the most beautiful Welsh scenery and Bodysgallen Hall, the most beautiful of Welsh hotels. Built around a 13th-century watchtower with Conwy Castle in the distance, this rambling hotel looks surprisingly uniform, considering eight centuries of additions, alterations, and restorations. The mellow elegance and character of the house are beautifully preserved. The spacious, dark-oak-paneled Jacobean entrance hall and the drawing room on the first floor have large fireplaces, mullioned windows, and comfortable furniture that create a tremendously luxurios old fashioned feel. Fifteen beautiful bedrooms are found in the main house: including four absolutely decadent suites each with two bathrooms—I particularly enjoyed my stay in room 8, which has a sitting nook and the loveliest of views of the garden. Sixteen suites are located in adjoining little cottages. Food is modern British. The grounds are an absolute delight and include a 17th-century knot garden, an 18th-century walled rose garden, and a woodland walk that offers spectacular views. Work out in the gym, swim in the indoor pool, laze on the terrace, or enjoy a pampering treatment. Snowdonia and historic Conwy are just down the road.
