The Olde Bull’s Head Sketch

Karen's Review Of This Property:

The Olde Bull’s Head has a long and interesting history. Established in 1472 and rebuilt in 1617, the walls of its traditional beamed bar are decorated with antique weaponry, brass and copper knick knacks and the town’s ancient ducking chair—all enticingly olde worlde Dickensian. Charles Dickens actually did stay here and the rooms, found up creaking staircases are named after characters in his books. Each bedroom is individually decorated and nicely appointed with either antique or contemporary furniture. All have modern bathrooms, television, and phone and some have lovely antique brass or iron beds. In contrast to the atmospheric the residents lounge is comfortable contemporary with sofas and chairs grouped round the large fireplace. Dine in the lively brasserie or enjoy modern French style food in the restaurant situated upstairs in the former hayloft. Castle Street leads to Beaumaris Castle, a squat, concentric fortification commissioned by Edward I, now a world heritage site. Nearby, the Marquis of Anglesey’s house and gardens are open to the public. Past Bangor, on the mainland, is Caernarfon Castle where Prince Charles was invested as Prince of Wales. You can easily use Beaumaris as a touring centre for the Snowdonia National Park.
