Karen's Review Of This Property:
Built on a sheltered site with distant views across Strangford Lough to the Mourne Mountains, Edenvale House is the lovely home of a most gregarious couple, Diane and Gordon Whyte. Relax with tea and cakes in the beautiful drawing room, plan your sightseeing forays, and enjoy the complete tranquility of this lovely spot. Try to snag one of the spacious front bedrooms with their spectacular views, dressing rooms large enough to accommodate a bed for a child, and spacious bathrooms with both bath and shower. (One’s a queen-size four-poster, the other a king or twin.) The two other very lovely bedrooms have garden views and spacious shower rooms. There’s a beautiful garden to wander in and horses and ponies to enjoy. Just down the road, Mount Stewart House has a splendid interior and a painting by Stubbs, but the acres of magnificent gardens are the main attraction. Nearby, the village of Greyabbey has lots of antique shops and the ruins of a Cistercian abbey. Dozens of old buildings have been brought from the countryside to the Ulster Folk Park where demonstrations of traditional crafts and farming are given.
