Karen's Review Of This Property:
This onetime coaching inn was in a sad and sorry state before it was rescued by the present owner, Roy Bolton, and transformed into the delightful hotel you see today. A rocking chair sits before an enormous fireplace and displays of old plates adorn the mantle. The ambiance of an old coaching inn continues to the restaurant with its whitewashed stone walls and tall pine settles dividing the room into intimate little areas. The inn’s original kitchen, with its flagstone floor and open fire, links the hotel to the Victorian-style bar still illuminated by flickering gas light. Try a Black Bush whiskey from the distillery up the road—Bushmills is the home of the world’s oldest licensed distillery and you can take a tour around it. There is a broad range of bedrooms. The most desirable are definitely the Superior Rooms of the Mill House, where you can expect to be pampered up to best 5-star standards. However, all the Mill House rooms are spacious with a small sitting area and ample room for luggage and golf clubs (lots of excellent courses nearby, including Royal Portrush). Small budget price rooms are also available in the original Coaching Inn overlooking the village. Just up the road are the picturesque ruins of 13th-century Dunluce Castle and the Giant’s Causeway.
