Karen's Review Of This Property:
Located on a quiet cul-de-sac, a 10-minutes downhill walk to the Roman Baths and Pump House (save your legs, take the bus back), Paradise House offers magnificent views over the city from its half-acre of manicured, walled gardens at the rear of the property. Originally constructed in the 1720s, and the last house standing on the street after the second world war, it has been beautifully restored and modernized to provide eleven guestrooms in a range of shapes and sizes. Decorated in soft cream, yellow and beige tones offset by splashes of color, the rooms are furnished in an elegant country casual style, with pine antiques and wicker furniture. Features include a mix of brass beds, four-posters, antiques, and collectibles. All rooms have spotless, white-tiled bathrooms en suite, some with freestanding clawfoot bathtubs, some with Jacuzzis. A choice of vegetarian, continental, or “Full English” is served downstairs in the breakfast room. Next door, the cozy, guest sitting room with comfortable chairs and sofas has a fireplace and views over the garden for those cooler, damper days.
