Stone House Sketch

Karen's Review Of This Property:

Stone House, the manor house for Rushlake Green, has belonged to the Dunn family for over 500 years. Built in 1495 with an addition in 1778, this glorious house, set on a 1,000-acre estate, is filled with wonderful antique furniture and old English china, which is complemented by chintzes and family memorabilia. Bedrooms vary in size from small and cozy to large and spacious. Most feature old exposed beams. All are furnished with care and provided with practically everything you might need from TV to hot-water bottles, sewing kits, books, and tempting biscuits. Two rooms are especially gorgeous, with four-poster beds and equally lovely bathrooms. Sumptuous dinners and breakfasts are served in the oak-paneled dining room, and continental breakfast is available in your bedroom. There is a croquet lawn and a billiard table. The 18th-century walled garden, old-fashioned rose garden, and lime walk are yours to enjoy. Other glorious gardens include Sissinghurst, Great Dixter, Scotney Castle, and Sheffield Park. Going to Glyndebourne then take along a sumptuous Stone House picnic. Ask about the popular cooking and vegetable gardening courses.
